Generations of Advocacy
100%
Community Grounded

The Two Lives of Oscar Grant Foundation was born from a profound understanding of the carceral system's reach. Grounded in the lived experiences of Oscar Grant Jr. and the enduring civil rights legacy of Oscar Grant III, the organization bridges direct service delivery with restorative narrative advocacy.
We exist to turn systemic loss into intergenerational resilience, ensuring formerly incarcerated men and women rebuild their lives with autonomy, stability, and deep community support.

Narrative Advocacy and Public Memory
Documentary Initiatives
Cinematic oral histories preserving community memory and exposing the ongoing structural barriers faced by returning citizens across California.
The Graphic Novel Project
Visual storytelling that educates the broader public on the systemic realities of the carceral system, framing justice through the lens of family and survival.
Dismantling Post-Conviction Barriers
A release date is not the finish line; it is the day the real work of rebuilding begins. In California and beyond, returning citizens face an entrenched web of housing discrimination and occupational licensing hurdles that perpetuate cycles of poverty long after time is served.
Our structural policy platform advocates for comprehensive sentencing reform, expanded transitional housing funding, and barrier-free employment pipelines that recognize human dignity over bureaucratic compliance.
We invite philanthropic organizations, educational institutions, and civil rights advocates to partner in bringing these vital educational projects to communities nationwide.
